The illuminated night show at Ice and Snow World, the Russian charm of Central Street, plus an introductory ski experience at Yabuli.

Harbin, known as the 'Moscow of the East,' is at its most magical from December to February. This tour centers around Ice and Snow World: start with the super-long ice slide to avoid crowds during the day, and after sunset, witness the highlight of the trip as hundreds of ice structures light up. Stroll Central Street's century-old European buildings with a Madieer ice cream stick, and see Saint Sophia Cathedral's Byzantine dome dusted with snow.

On Day 3, choose between a beginner ski lesson with a Chinese instructor at Yabuli Ski Resort (equipment and instruction included) or visiting the Siberian Tiger Park and the snowy Russian castle scenery at Volga Manor. On the final day, explore the Laodaowai Chinese Baroque district before your airport transfer. The tour includes cold-weather gear rental and a heated private vehicle, perfect for families and photography enthusiasts. Tours run from December to February.

Day-by-day itinerary每日行程

  1. D1Arrive in Harbin · Central Street

After being picked up from the airport and checking into your hotel, you'll be fitted with cold-weather gear. In the afternoon, stroll Central Street: this 1,450-meter pedestrian street features 71 European buildings in Renaissance, Baroque and other styles, with century-old cobblestones underfoot. Try a Madieer ice cream stick in -20°C weather, then buy a freshly baked Russian loaf of bread. In the evening, head to Saint Sophia Cathedral Square to see the Byzantine green dome against the snow and evening lights. Travel Tips: Sunset in Harbin is around 4:00 PM in winter, so plan your photography for the afternoon. Phones can easily shut down in the extreme cold; we recommend using warmers and carrying a power bank. For dinner, we suggest Russian cuisine (borscht, beef stew) or Northeastern iron pot stew.

  2. D2Ice and Snow World Day (Including Evening Show)

In the morning, visit Ice and Snow World—the world's largest ice and snow theme park. Start with the super-long ice slide and other ice activities to avoid evening crowds. Have lunch and take a break inside the park. After sunset, the park lights up: hundreds of ice structures glow under colorful lights, and the Ferris wheel and main tower offer must-photo opportunities. Enjoy the evening until approximately 9:00 PM before returning to your hotel. Travel Tips: As you'll be outdoors for extended periods, wear thick down pants and snow boots, with warmers on your lower back and boots. During peak season, the main slide has a 1-2 hour wait; your guide will help you plan to avoid crowds. Remember the locations of indoor rest areas and hot drink stations to warm up anytime.

  3. D3Yabuli Skiing or Siberian Tiger Park · Volga Manor

Choose one option: Option A—After breakfast, take a private vehicle to Yabuli Ski Resort (about 3-hour drive) for a 2-hour beginner lesson with a Chinese instructor (ski equipment, boots, and helmet included), then return to Harbin in the afternoon. Option B—First, visit Siberian Tiger Park to observe the free-roaming Siberian tigers up close from a special caged vehicle, then in the afternoon, head to Volga Manor to enjoy snowy castle scenery and snow tubing in the Russian-style estate. Travel Tips: For skiing, bring your own goggles and sunscreen. Children must be accompanied by an instructor. Option B saves about 5 hours of driving and is suitable for families with elderly members or young children. For dinner, we recommend a Northeastern dumpling banquet or traditional pork stew.

  4. D4Laodaowai Chinese Baroque · Airport Transfer

In the morning, explore the Laodaowai Chinese Baroque Historical and Cultural District: China's largest existing collection of Chinese Baroque architecture. The 'shop-in-front, home-in-back' commercial buildings from a century ago now house century-old brands like Lao Dingfeng pastries and Zhang Bao Pu, perfect for cultural photography and souvenir shopping. After lunch, you'll be transferred to Harbin Taiping International Airport (about 40-minute drive) based on your flight schedule. Travel Tips: Roads may be icy in winter, so allow an extra 20-30 minutes for your airport transfer. We recommend booking flights after 2:00 PM. Before departure, check that you haven't left behind any warmers or power banks.

Minus 20 degrees but the thermal suits they provided kept us comfortable. Ice World at night is one of the most spectacular things I have ever seen. Hotpot afterward was the best meal of my life.
